Resolution ITU-R 910 (WRC-23), wireless power transmission frequency studies
Published claims resting on this source
- CLM-0051 The international radio rules do not recognise wireless power transmission as a service, do not regulate it, and the studies that might change that are aimed at 2031.
- CLM-0053 Power beaming is not a recognised radio service, so no spectrum is expected to be allocated for beaming power from space and no international numeric emission limit applies to it; the general duty not to cause harmful interference to radio services does apply.
- CLM-0054 None of the seven ITU documents on wireless power transmission that were searched mentions what a power beam does to the ionosphere.
- CLM-0120 There is still no international radio allocation for beaming power from space, and the studies are not due until 2031.
- CLM-0503 Under the international radio rules as revised at the 2023 world radio conference, there is no radio-frequency allocation for beaming power from space to Earth at either of the two frequencies CASSIOPeiA-type designs use. The international studies that might lead to one are due to report to a conference in 2031, a year after the first working system that a 2025 UK report forecasts for 2030, and before its 2033 and 2036 steps; the report says its dates are estimates.
