ITU WRC-31 preliminary agenda item 2.2 text, on frequency bands for non-beam and beam wireless power transmission
Published claims resting on this source
- CLM-0552 The international study planned for 2031 is aimed at stopping wireless power transmission from disturbing other radio users. It is not, on its own wording, aimed at giving wireless power transmission its own protected slice of spectrum the way other radio services get. The item is printed in brackets and is due to be reconsidered in 2027, so it is not yet settled.
- CLM-1377 The official 2023 text that plans the 2031 world radio conference marks the wireless power item as not yet settled. It also says the whole agenda will be reconsidered in 2027, because countries disagreed about which frequency bands to study and how to protect existing radio users.
