In plain terms

TerraSpark says it will first use wireless power on the ground, where cables are hard to lay, and move parts of the system into space later. The article suggests Luxembourg could become a financial centre for such projects. It gives no dates.

The claim as recorded

The same article states that TerraSpark's first step is not in space: wireless power transmission is to be developed on Earth, first where laying cables is expensive, slow or impractical, before larger parts of the system move into space. It argues that, if space-based solar power becomes commercially viable, it could form a new infrastructure category needing long-term power contracts, insurance, project finance, debt markets and institutional capital. It also argues that Luxembourg could help build that financial architecture. It gives no date for any step.

Evidence behind this: The same opinion article; a statement of the company's plan and of a possible role for Luxembourg, not a programme record.

Scope and limits

STATED INTENT WITH NO DATES; FOR TIMING SEE CLM-1209. The company's dated steps (the 100 m Earth Spark demonstration, and an in-space demonstration "slated for 2027") are in SRC-594 (CLM-1208, CLM-1209). This article adds the ordering and the reason, not a schedule. The article hedges with "could" throughout and says success is not guaranteed. Nothing is said about Luxembourg's own position; the Luxembourg Space Agency is not quoted. The magazine is named only in the company's own post (a held capture).

PDF p.2 [46], raw: "Our first step doesn't even happen in space". PDF p.4 [48], raw: "the financial architecture that allows it to scale"; "Success is not guaranteed". Paraphrased, not quoted: ground-based wireless power first, where cables are costly, slow or impractical, then progressively into space (PDF p.2 [46], a sentence that runs across the page's two columns); the new infrastructure category and what it would need (PDF p.3 [47]); Luxembourg's possible role (PDF p.4 [48]).
