- CLM-1181 A student study built with the designer's input describes a small version, about 260 metres across and as tall as it is wide, for 24 megawatts. The surface is upright at the centre and leans over towards the rim, to about a third of a right angle.
- CLM-1182 In this study the huge twisted surface is tiled with small six-sided panels, each about 0.6 to 1.1 metres across. Each panel is a little staircase of thin strips a few centimetres apart, with the antennas standing between the steps and solar cells on both faces of each strip, except near the centre where the strips would shade each other.
