In plain terms

By December 2025 Japan's space roadmap said hardware for a large-structure test had been handed over for a supply-ship flight, and a satellite to beam power from low orbit to the ground had been built.

The claim as recorded

The FY2025 revision of Japan's space roadmap, decided on 2025-12-23, reports for SSPS (our translation) that flight hardware for an in-orbit demonstration of large space-structure construction technology was handed over for HTV-X flight 1. It also reports that work continued on integrated generation and transmission panels for microwave wireless power and on raising transmitter efficiency, and that a demonstration satellite was manufactured for research aimed at an ultra-long-distance wireless power demonstration from low Earth orbit to the ground.

Evidence behind this: T3, a government roadmap's account of its own year's progress; it permits "the roadmap reports Y as done by date Z" only. It states no measured result.

Scope and limits

A progress report by the plan's own owner, not a measurement; for QST-006 it shows hardware delivered and built, and no measured power, distance or efficiency. Whether HTV-X1 has flown, and whether the structure demonstration has run, is not stated here. The roadmap does not name the satellite on this page (the p.51 chart names OHISAMA; CLM-1249).

text, PDF p.38 (printed p.36), heading 【宇宙太陽光発電の研究開発】, our translation, paraphrased except where quoted: for SSPS, the flight hardware of the in-orbit demonstration system for large space-structure construction technology was handed over for HTV-X flight 1 ("フライト品をHTV-X1号機に引き渡した"); development of integrated generation-transmission panels for microwave wireless power and improvement of transmitter efficiency continued; R&D towards an ultra-long-distance wireless power demonstration from low Earth orbit to the ground went ahead and the demonstration satellite was manufactured ("実証衛星の製造を実施した"); exhibitions and workshops were held to promote use of microwave wireless power in other industries.
