In plain terms
A UK space solar start-up said in 2024 that it had a deal to supply an Icelandic utility with 30 MW from orbit by 2030.
The claim as recorded
Space Solar stated on 2024-10-23 that, with Transition Labs, it had an agreement to provide Reykjavik Energy with electricity from a first space-based solar plant "operational by 2030 with an initial capacity of 30 MW", and planned to scale up to a large-scale system by 2036.
Evidence behind this: T6, a company press release about its own agreement; it permits "Space Solar stated Y on date Z" only.
Scope and limits
Self-reported. The release does not name the instrument. No price, orbit, demonstration milestones or financing are stated, and Reykjavik Energy's own statement is not held.
What it assumes
No assumptions are recorded against this claim.
