- CLM-1371 A 1977 NASA design study planned a 10 km electromagnetic track on the Moon to fling small blocks of lunar rock into space at 2.4 km/s, about a million tonnes a year, as raw material for a space colony and the solar power satellites it would build.
- CLM-1372 The 1977 NASA design was a wheel-shaped habitat about 1.8 km across, with the living space inside a 130 m wide ring, spinning once a minute so people feel normal weight. A long cylinder of the same radius was also sized, and would hold far more people.
