- CLM-1272 In 2000 NASA sketched a path from small demonstrations around 2006 to a first full-size power satellite prototype between 2025 and 2035, and very large systems after 2050. None of it was funded, and none of the dated steps has happened in a held source.
- CLM-1274 NASA said its programme had built a test solar panel that it expected to lead to arrays more than three times lighter per watt than the best of the day, kept its power beams to about a tenth of midday sunlight for safety, and found that the very high voltages assumed in 1979 would not work in space.
