N. Matsuura (the title page prints 松浦延夫 and no romanised name; initial corrected from H. 2026-09-19, 延夫 read Nobuo as CLM-0126's src has it) ·1982 · T3 government or agency report · VC06VC07
Published claims resting on this source
- CLM-0126 The 1982 source behind the disputed 10 per cent absorption figure actually says absorption is 0.002 per cent, and never mentions solar activity at all.
- CLM-0149 A 1982 Japanese government radio-research review says the famous 230 watts-per-square-metre figure was only ever a theoretical calculation from the 1978 US design study, and had never actually been tested by 1982.
- CLM-0150 A 1982 Japanese review notes that, at the time, the American and Soviet safety limits for microwave exposure were far apart (1000 times, by our arithmetic), and that the proposed space solar power design's own human-safety figure was ten times stricter than the US limit of that era.
- CLM-0947 A 1982 Japanese review calculates that the ionosphere absorbs about one part in fifty thousand of a 2.45 GHz power beam - around 0.1 MW from a 5 GW beam. That is nothing to the power system. The same sentence says it is still enough to warm the E-region, especially at night.
