In plain terms
None of these five problems, on its own, proves space solar power is impossible for the UK. But solving all of them at once, on the timeline proponents state, would require several separate hard problems to go well together, and right now nobody has the evidence to say confidently that any of them will.
The claim as recorded
No single one of five objections (launch-cost dependency, the moving terrestrial comparator, manufacturing learning-rate scale, the regulatory timeline, and the unflown ionospheric physics) is, by itself, sufficient to conclude SBSP cannot deliver competitive UK electricity on any timeline; each has a stated, evidence-based defeat condition. The cumulative case is that multiple, largely independent uncertainties would all need to resolve favourably and on a compressed schedule for a 2030s-2040s UK deployment claim to hold, and none currently shows a resolution date earlier than the mid-to-late 2030s at best (the regulatory path), and two show no resolution date at all (the manufacturing cost floor and the ionospheric physics, both of which depend on evidence nobody has yet produced).
Evidence behind this: T0-ANALYSIS, so no CALC is owed: this record DERIVES NO NUMBER. It is a summary judgement across five objections. Characterisation taken from synthesis/calcs.md's own disposition table, which sorted these records and recorded that they carry no arithmetic of their own. Method, stated here so a reader can dispute it: the judgement is made over the claims and calculations named in src, and rests on no quantity this record computes.
Scope and limits
This is a summary judgement over the five objections, not a new independent finding; a reader should weigh it no higher than the five objections it summarises. Several records those objections rest on have since been corrected or withdrawn: a launch-price attribution that could not be found in the company's filings, battery cost figures that did not reproduce from the edition named, a firming-cost input narrower than the source chart gives, and the two learning-rate records behind the view that the assumed rate is plausible. None of these reverses the summary, but it should be re-read once those records are repaired.
What it assumes
No assumptions are recorded against this claim.
Where it comes from
The five objections named in the claim, each with its own stated verdict and defeat condition.
