In plain terms
The UK government has not announced any money for the next stage of this design since its 2022-2024 competition, and its own webpage, last updated in February 2026, promises none.
The claim as recorded
No UK government funding decision for a further CASSIOPeiA programme phase beyond the 2022-2024 competition has been identified in any source held: DESNZ's own GOV.UK SBSP page, as last updated on 13 February 2026, describes the commissioned studies and commits to no further funding, programme or roadmap decision. Space Solar's 2030 minimum-viable-product date (CLM-0517) is planned, and nothing held shows the public funding that a first-of-a-kind programme would ordinarily need.
Evidence behind this: T0-analysis: an own structural judgement over held records; it derives no measured value. The absence rests on SRC-296 (T1, a government page).
Scope and limits
An absence over held sources as of 2026-10-03, not proof that no decision exists; a decision could sit outside the pages searched. The earlier claim that a decision would need to come within one to two years for the 2030 date to stay plausible was this register's own estimate, with no benchmark behind it, and is withdrawn.
What it assumes
No assumptions are recorded against this claim.
Where it comes from
, DESNZ GOV.UK SBSP page, "Last updated 13 February 2026": the page describes the 2021 and 2025 commissioned studies and commits to no further funding (queries and counts at VER-1074). CLM-0517: every future milestone in the Space Solar roadmap is planned, not achieved. CLM-0518: an April 2025 submission reports limited engagement.
